A shadow

from A Newly Planted Grain by Eyemouth

lyrics

What´s the use in being scared, of what tomorrow might bring
If it could it might have been another way
I set my face to the dark, some will always fall through
Still the shape doesn't change at all

Seems like a shadow has passed, over us all
Feels like the gouges are moving again
Oppressive and distorted, yet still and cold
What´s been given can be taken away … someday

And there´s a hammer of guilt, you´re still not sure how to use
But there´s no doubt where you´ll stand, when It falls
It´s hard to frame this in words, but when It comes and unfolds
There´ll be a darkness behind, that will defeat every kind

By the pounding in my head, I know this mourning still grows
Guess that shadow didn´t pass … after all

While my skin´s lashed with flames, i see scars that dissolves
And what was given, is to be taken away … (just like they sad it would anyway)

You take that hammer of guilt, you finally know how to use
And there´s no doubt where i´ll stand, when It falls
It´s not that odd as it seems, just when you came to unfold
I saw what darkness we´ll find, the moment we fall behind
It seemed to rise by itself, the more we tried to become
We´d throw our arms around such thoughts, until our time has been done
